Global Swarming

How I long for the good old days.  Do you remember back when it was just so cool to scoff at any and all warnings about new American foreign policies or old potential threats by anybody who actually knew what they were talking about?  I remember when highly intelligent, arrogant, Ivory Tower progressive-liberals with no real-world experience or common sense were boldly trashing the comments of anyone one who did not see things their way?

Do you remember the debate where Barack Obama haughtily “schooled” Mitt Romney about his lack of understanding of foreign policy after Romney made comments about the potential threat Russia still presented.  How did that work out?

  • We have unresolved Russian aggression in Ukraine.
  • Russian bombers are currently flying missions over the Gulf of Mexico
  • Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua are forming stronger military ties with Russia and can provide bases for Russian combat aircraft and missiles.

I remember when George W. Bush was ridiculed for his comments about the Axis of Evil in which he included Iran, Iraq and North Korea.  Today we see:

  •  ISIS / ISIL / DAESH or whatever you want to call it …  in Iraq and Syria, forming alliances and sponsoring attacks her in the U.S.  Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and Israel are doing their own thing … tired of waiting for the Anointed One to declare which side of the war on terror he is on.  Yes …Yes … I know we are not “at war” with them, however, they are at war with us and have been since the 70s.Obama’s efforts at containment and degradation certainly didn’t stop ISIS fanatics from shooting up a cartoon contest here in the U.S.  Tell me …. how do you contain a threat that recruits via twitter and Facebook?
  • We are facing a nuclear-armed North Korea who’s leader just executed a loyal, longtime senior member of his own government who, by the way, also loyally served his father … by shooting him with an anti-aircraft gun!  And for what you might ask?  Dozing off in a meeting.  And this idiot is just itching for a reason to launch a missile at someone!
  • We have a president who is so blinded by ideology and so anxious to be seen doing something … that he is willing to sign a disastrous deal with Iran; one that we know they will not adhere to and will practically guarantee them nuclear weapons shortly after he leaves office.  Iran’s leaders just keep stringing Obama and Kerry along like a couple of organ grinder monkeys!  It is freaking embarrassing!

However, the real  icing on the cake is this:

CNN REPORTS U.S. STRATEGY TO CONTAIN ISIS SEEMS TO BE UNRAVELING.

Don’t you have to have some sort of a recognizable strategy … before it can actually begin to unravel?  Guess not!!

Can you detect horse manure?

 Free horse manure?

Interesting comment on the news this evening. When President Bush said that there were chemical weapons in Iraq, all of the worlds intelligence agencies agreed with him. (Well, those that are affiliated with NATO and our allies.) Democrats and Republicans on the intelligence committees also supported this conclusion. When it turned out that these weapons had been moved and were no longer in the country – the media promoted the whole “Bush Lied, People Died” mantra. Now that President Obama has been proven to make multiple statements that are the exact opposite of the truth, and evidence has come out since that he had been briefed on the facts so he absolutely knew that he was not telling the truth the media reaction is: “He misspoke.” Really? Dozens of times, using the same phrase in different situations, specifically as a response to the challenge that the plan would force people out of their current plans? This is misspeaking? Wow. Perhaps ABC, NBC and CBS should get their ombudsmen to publish their definitions of lying as a public service announcement so we all know how to react when politicians are feeding us a load of horse manure. Or is it as simple as: No matter the statement, if it comes from a Republican, it is a lie. The corollary being, no matter how outrageous the lie, if it comes from a Democrat (and it gets proven beyond a reasonable doubt) then it was a mistake. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t blame the politicians for this… this is a failure on the part of the talking head media.. of course our leaders in Washington take advantage of the situation.

A Flash of Stupidity in a Lifetime of Ineptitude!

Deficit and debt increases 2001–2009. Gross de...I am so relieved that the Private sector is doing so well.  I must have missed it.  Maybe because I was worring about my declining income vs. soaring expenses.  Silly me!

It seems, at least according to the Anointed One, that it is the public sector that is doing so poorly.  Obama tells us that States simply do not have the “flexibility” (translation: “the ability to print and/or borrow endless sums of money”) that the Obama regime has.  So, I guess then Obama is suggesting that all we have to do is let States print their own money and/or borrow money from the Chinese (just like Obama’s administration does) and the public sector woes will soon be over!  At least, that is, until each state is $15 trillion in debt and therefore files for bankruptcy … or request a federal bailout!  This is the positively brilliant fiscal policy espoused by our peerless leader, Emperor Obama!  I guess he figured this out between the 16th and 17th holes during his last round of golf.

In a recent speech, we hear Obama still trying to blame George W. Bush for the astronomical deficit in this country.  Of course, this is after three and a half years of his polices; two years of which he controlled both Houses of Congress.  He passed his bailouts, his “shovel ready” porkulous bill, ObamaCare, and gave billions to now bankrupt “green energy” companies run by his cronies (oops, I mean election campaign contribution bundlers), but it is still Bush’s fault.  It defies reason no matter how you look at it!!  Of course, facts don’t matter to his left-wing media machine who dutifully spew forth his rhetoric …  including Obama’s brilliant and  really cool analogy involving a restaurant tab.

President Obama went on the offense against Republicans and their nominee Mitt Romney, pushing back on the often-repeated accusation that his administration has ballooned the country’s deficit.

“I love it when these guys talk about debt and deficits,” Obama told supporters in Baltimore. “I inherited a trillion dollar deficit.” [Which is now over $15 trillion]

“We signed two trillion dollars in spending cuts into law,” Obama said. “Spending under my administration has grown more slowly than under any president in 60 years.”  [The above chart would suggest otherwise]

Obama said that the country’s budget deficits and big debt were the result of the George W. Bush’s two tax cuts, as well as the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. “They baked all this stuff into the cake with those tax cuts… and the war,” Obama said.  [maybe so, but I also remember Obama stating in his 2008 campaign that you cannot raise taxes in a recession and that he would cut spending by going over expenses “line-by-line” (Oh wait, before you can have a “line,” you have to have a budget!  Oops! My bad!).  I would also point out that  … 72 out of 100 Senators and 297 out of 435 Representatives (so that includes Republicans and Democrats if you are unsure) voted to support the war in Iraq after 9/11. Therefore, Obama’s “they” includes a good many members of Obama’s own party as well]

“It’s like somebody goes to a restaurant, orders a big steak dinner, a martini and all that stuff, then just as you’re sitting down they leave and accuse you of running up the tab,” Obama said.   [Except Obama has been sitting at that table for three and a half more hours, ordering more wine, desserts, after dinner brandies, and coffee … hoping he could simply blame the previous patron … and knowing his Obama-zombies would never catch on ]

Can  Obama can’t really be serious?  Even more sadly, the cool aid drinkers actually do lap it up and believe!  They cling like rats to a sinking ship, blindly following, soaking up the rhetoric while ignoring all evidence to the contrary that surrounds them.  Obama’s true brilliance lies in his ability to play up the “intellectually cheap, populist, class-warfare rhetoric.”  He’s not just blaming  the Bush-era tax cuts (which he himself extended), he’s throwing in a steak-and-a-martini analogy to really show his pizzaz and bring the message home to his loyal Obama-zombies!

Oh well!  When will Obama and his cronies understand that, simply because former President George W. Bush, who was not a fiscally conservative Republican, spent too much money while in office, Obama’s regime quadrupling down on it, and then some … is not a good thing!   Blaming Bush no longer plays … but it seems to be the only card in Obama’s deck.  At least Obama is really good at sticking to his message.

All Praise Obama’s Recipe for Disaster

It is hard to imagine an administration that is so corrupt, so incompetent, so dishonest, and so intent on getting re-elected at any cost than Obama’s!  Obama is spending  $4 million to vacation in Hawaii ( and yes, Michelle is travelling on a separate flight with her entourage), while still pushing his class-warfare mantra of “tax the rich).   Again, I ask the same old question. What gives liberals the right to steal  from those who have worked hard and succeeded and give it to those have not; at least without first doing all it can to rein in wasteful government spending?

What wasteful spending you might ask?  Well, here are a few examples of the financial fiasco that is Barack Obama’s administration.

  • The U.S. gave China $17.8 million for economic development and social services.  Of course, we first borrowed the money from China.  So we are paying interest on money we borrowed from China to give to China?  Even you liberals ought to see the stupidity in that transaction.

That should be enough by itself, but here are a few more:

  • $100,000 to fund a study of why chimpanzees fling their feces (maybe because they can … Duh!).
  • $10 million was spent to produce a version of Sesame Street for Pakistan (Why?).
  • $75,000 to promote awareness about the role Michigan plays in producing Christmas trees & poinsettias (Just don’t display any of them on public property … you may get arrested).
  • $15.3 million for one of the infamous Bridges to Nowhere in Alaska (No wonder Sarah resigned as governor!).
  • $113,227 for a video game preserve in New York (I was unaware video games were endangered).
  • $35 million for political party conventions in 2012.
  • $550,000 for a documentary about how rock music contributed to the collapse of the Soviet Union.
  • $48,700 for the 2nd annual Hawaii Chocolate Festival to promote Hawaii’s chocolate industry (The government has to convince people to by their chocolate … must be pretty bad chocolate!).
  • $350,000 to support an International Art Exhibition in Venice, Italy (Great, but not their job.)
  • $765,825 to study how college students use mobile devices for social networking (Really?)

And my personal fav:

  • $765,828 to subsidize “pancakes for yuppies” in the nation’s capital (Can you say “blatant vote buying?” I knew you could!).

As long as Obama, Pelosi, Biden, and Reid are wasting (oops … my bad; spending) taxpayer money like this … they have no justification to raise taxes on anybody!!!

On a side note:

We finally have peace in Iraq thanks to the brilliant leadership of our Messiah and peerless leader, the 4th greatest president in the history of our nation, Barack Obama.  The troops are home and all is well.  Except we just created a power vacuum in Iraq that Iran will be extremely happy to fill.

A clue for the clueless: This morning, a series of coordinated bomb explosions in Baghdad killed at least 63 and injured perhaps 185 more.  These were car bombs and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

This morning’s carnage is clearly an effort by radical Islamists backed by Iran (who manufactures most of the IDEs by the way) to destabilize and overturn Iraq’s fragile democratic government. Iraq’s fragile democracy is on its own; now only protected by a fledgling national security force.

Why?  Because Obama, in a move coldly calculated to increase his ratings in the polls and help his re-election bid at the cost of Iraq’s new government and the lives of American service men who died there, … rushed to bring the “troops home for Christmas.”   Of course, the liberal spin doctors and their media lackeys are proclaiming it a U.S. victory and praising Obama for his courage and leadership.  A whole slew of pompous ceremonies have been planned to celebrate the “end” of the war.

In a calculated, twisted sort of way, it was a brilliant political move.  I mean, everyone wants the troops home … don’t they!  But I predict that the premature withdrawal of American forces from Iraq will lead to many, many more deaths and much more destruction down the road.  Just wait and see …

Justice or Vengance

David gegen Goliath

This Sunday also just happened to be September 11,2011 and the 10th anniversary of the attack on the world trade center in New York City.  In church I listened to a sermon by Reverend Joe Minarik that talked about forgiveness versus vengeance.  It was a well thought out sermon and I did enjoy listening to it, and it is often very true that some people mistake revenge for justice.  We all need to find forgiveness in our hearts for those people who have offended us … or how can we expect God to forgive us?

How does that translate to September 11, 2011 and the actions this government took to punish the perpetrators of that heinous attack?  Did the U.S. seek revenge or justice.  Does forgiveness mean there is no consequences for evil actions?  Can we forgive those who do us wrong and still expect justice?

Consequences are sometimes necessary for us to learn … and I would say it was justice that most Americans sought after 9/11.  Not revenge!  Revenge would have been the indiscriminate murder of 3000 muslim innocent men, women, and children.  That did not happen.  Though we can argue about whether what we did was the right thing, anyone of sound mind and intellect should be able to accept that it was measured, restrained, and that every attempt was made to only go after Al Qaeda associates and their supporters.  We did not Nuke the Middle East.  I think my thoughts on Iraq should be clear from earlier posts, and yes, even Obama stated that Afghanistan was the “right war to be fighting” to achieve justice for the victims of the World Trade Center bombing.

Sometimes I get the feeling that some people do not mistake vengeance for justice, but instead they mistake justice for vengeance.  “vengeance is mine … saith the Lord” is often quoted by certain Christians as an exhortation to stand by and  to do nothing when horrific acts or events are playing out.   To me, Jesus’s lesson of “turning the other cheek” is not an admonition to go meekly to the slaughter … it is the defiant act of a warrior.  It clearly says, “that slap didn’t faze me … would you like to go for the other cheek as well!”  I have never bought into the Marvin Milktoast version of Jesus Christ.  Marvin Milktoast could not have survived 40 days in the desert,  run the money-changers out of the temple, faced down Satan and demons, or endured the suffering Jesus endured during his crucifixion.  Jesus was a warrior … like David or Sampson …a warrior for God … with a keen understanding of where and when not to use force or violence.

God gave us as sense of right and wrong, a free will, and a thinking mind!  The belief that “divine intervention” is the only biblically correct means to stop the evil acts of others is simply a cop-out and an excuse to avoid personal responsibility.  I am reminded of a story about a pious man sitting on his roof as the flood waters rose about him.  A truck came by and his neighbors shouted for him to climb in;  they were headed for higher ground.  He refused their help, saying that he had faith God would rescue him.  The water kept rising.  A boat came by and the rescuers hailed the man.  Again the man refused rescue saying that he was waiting for God to come and save him.  Still the water kept rising.  A helicopter flew overhead and tried to lift the man to safety.   Again the man refused, yelling that God would save him. The water continued to rise.  Sometime later the man stood at the Pearly Gates and Peter opened them to let him in.  The pious man, his faith shaken and feeling somewhat miffed, asked Peter why in Heaven’s Name God had not come and rescued him?  Why did God let him drown?  Peter looked at the man and said, “Sorry. God was sort of busy that day.  However, he did manage to find the time to send you a truck, a boat, and a helicopter.  Why did you not jump on one of those?

While violence is and should always be the last resort, the fact is that if only evil men are willing to use violence, only evil men will win.  Here are a few quotes I like:

“An unwillingness to deal forcibly with violence does not equate to moral rectitude!”

~ Mary Malmros

“Freedom is the sure possession of those alone who have the courage to defend it!”

~ Pericles

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing!”

~ Edmund Burke
